YouTube Embedded Player: List of Parameters

This document describes all the parameters that are available in the YouTube embedded player and can be used as a guide or a tutorial for help. Appending these parameters to the SWF URL allow you to customize, set things like color and borders, as well as whether to enable the JavaScript API for the player.

All of the following parameters are optional. They are officially supported only by the embedded player, but a subset of them may work with other players such as the playlist player or the custom player.

Robots.txt: Guide to Robots exclusion standard

robots.txt, also known as the Robots Exclusion Protocol or Robot Exclusion Standard protocol, is a convention to prevent cooperating web spiders and other web robots from accessing all or part of a website which is otherwise publicly viewable. Robots are often used by search engines to categorize and archive web sites, or by webmasters to proofread source code. The standard is unrelated to, but can be used in conjunction with, Sitemaps, a robot inclusion standard for websites.

Here are few facts, i have discovered while working with robots.txt and are difficult to find anywhere,

Sxipper: Mozilla Firefox Addon

Sxipper is one of the most frequently used add-on in my Mozilla Firefox Browser for password management and alone saves at least 20 minutes of my time, daily, by saving me of putting in the passwords and filling up the forms.

Working as a Web Developer i am bound to fill few forms and login to many Online accounts on daily basis. Not only it saves me of remembering the passwords, it fills the forms in style and keeps tracks of which account i used last time.

SearchIMDB: Firefox Addon

SearchIMDB

is a simple extension that searches the highlighted text in IMDB. This Add-on has simply saved my many hours of work by simply saving me of copying, opening IMDB in new tab and pasting the name of movie in it for a search.

For those who are unaware,  The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is a HUGE collection of movie information.  A catalog with every pertinent detail about a movie, from who was in it, to who made it, to trivia about it, to filming locations, and even where you can find reviews and fan sites on the web.

So what does it do ?

When there is highlighted text, a new option is added to the context menu. This option searches the highlighted text in “The Internet Movie Database” (IMDB).
