Astro Boy (2009)

  • Astro Boy (2009)Story of the Astro-boy is pretty straight forward; Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving man’s expectations, our hero embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father who had rejected him.As story continues astro boy encounters different people, robots alike and them too with all sorts of personalities and emotions, which enriches his experience of world. The quality of animation is quiet good and many comic relief introduced during the whole movie were quite likable and funny. The trio of RLF were the most amusing of those characters.
The movie had it’s moments but as a whole, it was not that satisfying when it was finished and was a bit tiring in the middle. It was good effort but had the potential to be much more.
    My Rating: 5.5/10.
