Behind The *Asterisks*: Firefox Addon, making life easy

by Prashant Kumar Sharma

Behind The *Asterisks* (EladKarako Mod) http://in.linkedin.com/in/prashantkumarsharma is a 7 Kb Addon provides a Fast Way To View The Content Of The “Password Field”, which normally Shows only Asterisks representing real characters.

This add-on has no configuration and really easy to use, simplicity at its best; It shows the content of password field as a normal text field.

If you are Firefox-ing at office, have privacy issues or people spying behind your back all the time unreadable password field is fine. But since most of us are working at home, for some in Web Development or Web Testing field, *Behind* The *Asterisks* can really ease up browsing, by doing one thing but very well, and that is adding a mouse over event for password-text-fields on your webpage, while the mouse arrow if over the password-field, it shows the content as a normal text field, you can view, edit, Copy-Paste a password-field content !

Now this is special, since password-field is naturally Copy-Shielded. Ever tried to copy the content of a password-field? you get nothing! or even less useful- you get real series-of asterisks (you really get •••••••••• or *********).
*Behind* The *Asterisks* will give you those benefits, and once mouse is outside, it will come back to show only Asterisks again.
